Objective: To quantify 3-D femorotibial joint kinematics during ambulation in dogs with cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) rupture treated with lateral fabellotibial suture stabilization (LFTS).

Animals: 9 adult dogs (body weight, 15 to 35 kg [33 to 77 lb]) with unilateral complete CCL rupture.

Objective: To describe medium-term functional outcome after nail osteosynthesis in feline traumatology and report clinically relevant recommendations for I-Loc angle-stable interlocking nail use in cats.

Study design: Prospective clinical study.

Sample population: Client-owned cats (n = 29).

Objective: To evaluate outcomes and prognostic factors after decompressive hemilaminectomy in paraplegic medium to large breed dogs with extensive epidural hemorrhage (DEEH) and thoracolumbar intervertebral disc extrusion (TL-IVDE).

Despite being one of the most commonly diagnosed causes of canine hind limb lameness, the pathogenesis of medial patellar luxation remains incompletely understood. Most cases are considered developmental with anatomical deformities leading to failure of the stifle extensor mechanism. These include coxa vara, coxa valga, reduced anteversion angle, distal external femoral torsion, excessive distal femoral varus, internal proximal tibial torsion, proximal tibial valgus, tibial tuberosity medialisation, patella alta and shallow trochlear groove.

Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of still images of needle arthroscopy (SNAR), still images of traditional arthroscopy (STAR), and computed tomography (CT) to diagnose medial coronoid process (MCP) pathology.

Study design: Prospective clinical trial.

Animals: Dogs (n = 17) presented for evaluation of elbow dysplasia.

Fractures and ligamentous injuries of the front paw are common in small animals and usually result from direct trauma, such as vehicular accident, collision with a stationary object, falls from a height, or entrapment of the paw with leverage (eg, stepping in a hole while running).

Metacarpal and phalangeal fractures may be associated with concurrent ligamentous injury. Tendon and paw injuries are generally associated with direct traumatic etiologies, such as laceration.

Objectives: To compare the effect of intra-articular treatment with triamcinolone hexacetonide (TH), stanozolol, hyaluronan, and a platelet concentrate in police working dogs with bilateral hip osteoarthritis (OA).

Study Design: Prospective, longitudinal, double-blinded, negative controlled study.

Sample Population: Fifty police working dogs with naturally occurring hip OA.

Estrogen deficiency has been shown to negatively influence rotator cuff tendon healing. Therefore, the addition of an estrogen-like-compound (ELC) in a non-estrogen deficient animal may improve the quality of a rotator cuff repair.
