Esvot Wetlabs 2009 Report

From 9-12th September 2009, 136 veterinary orthopaedic specialists from across Europe gathered in Munich for a series of ESVOT wetlabs.

These events have always been a real strength of ESVOT and this year was no exception. Topics included the TATE elbow system, Biomedtrix CFX/BFX ‘combi’ hip course, Kyon TTA and total hip replacement courses, Arthrex extracapsular cruciate repair course, basic small animal arthroscopy (Arthrex and Wolf) and a PennHIP® seminar. The tutors on these courses were the global leaders in these areas from both Europe (6) and USA (10), and the sessions allowed delegates and tutors to mingle and discuss shared issues and problems. Thus, the informal and relaxed nature of the courses allowed delegates to maximise their learning opportunities.

On the Friday evening delegates, sponsors and speakers all congregated for a wonderful course dinner at the Seehaus restaurant in the Englischen Garten. A fantastic venue for a lively and social evening.

The next ESVOT wetlabs are currently being planned and will take place alongside the World Veterinary Orthopaedic Congress in Bologna, Italy from 15-18th September 2010. We hope to see as many of you there as possible for what will be the biggest event in veterinary orthopaedics of the last fours years.
