We would like to advise you of an extended deadline for abstract submission for the BVOA Spring Scientific Meeting, 2nd April 2008 (pre-BSAVA Congress) and remind you to consider applying for the BVOA Clinical Research Award.

Once again we are inviting any member of the profession to submit a short clinical research abstract for presentation at the Spring Meeting. The abstract may cover prospective or retrospective research, or report an interesting case series, but it must be of interest to members of the BVOA. If accepted, presenters will receive free registration for the meeting and £50 towards travel costs. Abstracts should be submitted to the Chair of the Education Committee by e.mail (andy@andersonsturgess.com) by 15th February 2008. Further details regarding submission can be found in the attachment. A provisional programme for this year’s spring meeting is also attached for your interest.

Further details of the BVOA Clinical Research award can be found on the BVOA website: www.bsava.org.uk/bvoa
The award is for upto £3000. The main applicant must be a BVOA member. Applications or informal enquiries can be made to the Chair of the Scientific Committee (eithne.comerford@liverpool.ac.uk). The deadline for submission is 31st January but consideration will be given to later applications –please contact Eithne in advance should you need to do this.
